Dangers of inaccurate or incorrect prescriptions

When people get sick, doctors will inevitably analyze the symptoms, diagnose the problem, and hand out a list if medications that can help alleviate the symptoms. For the most part, doctors suggest prescription drugs rather than over-the-counter medication. This is largely because if the over-the-counter ones actually worked, then there wouldn't be a need to visit a doctor. This situation is not uncommon and, in general, whenever a medical professional prescribes certain medications, then the recommendation is a reliable one. However, some statistics are starting to show that there in an increase in mishaps related to the prescription process. Particularly troublesome are situations that involve prescribing too many drugs to a patient and prescribing the wrong ones.

Anyone who disputes that prescription drugs are of great benefit and a medical necessity in the modern world can be considered a fool, but too much of a good thing can become a bad thing. However, according to statistics published as early as 2003, thousands of prescriptions a year are incorrect and dangerous. Most experts pile them into two basic categories: the over-prescribed, and the incorrectly prescribed. Being given too many prescription drugs to take could cause harm to the body, particularly if the given medications are too potent or might have dangerous side effects when taken together. In the event that the prescription is incorrect, not only is there a risk that the patient's condition will simply deteriorate, there is also the risk of unforeseen complications from the effects of the drugs. Statistics show that at least 21.3% of all patients are given prescriptions that are either wrong or have too many drugs listed.

One of the more common reasons for this problem is that the “illness” at the root of the problem is merely an adverse reaction to previously taken prescription drugs. The side effects of some medications can easily look like the symptoms of some diseases. For example, some of the signs of insomnia are known to be similar to the rarer side effects of some muscle relaxant medication. The doctor mistakenly views the side effects as symptoms, which prompts him to prescribe more drugs to combat an illness that isn't actually there. Of course, this is not always the case.

In other instances, the problem stems from the fact that a more preferable alternative is present, but the doctor instead recommends one that is not perfectly suited to the problem. There are various ways by which any given drug can become inappropriate. The patient may have allergic reactions to one or more of the chemical components of the given drug. The prescribed may be posed as an alternative to a better drug, or better suited to treating a different (but similar) condition. In a few cases, the commercially available doses might be too much, or too little, for the patient in question. In fact, incorrect dosages are among the primary problems that some patients face with regards to the safety of their prescriptions.

There are various other instances where the prescription might not be right. Regardless of how the incorrect information came about, the end result is always the same. There is an increased risk of side effects and damage to the patient, which is exactly what most doctors would prefer to avoid. The problem can only get worse as more people pop pills.

Keeping well when monsoon dwells

First showers of monsoon are heartily welcomed by everyone after experiencing the scorching heat of summer. But monsoons reduce the immunity of our body and make us susceptible to many diseases which are commonly associated with this season. It is time for us to keep our body resistant against diseases by boosting our immunity and taking precautions against these diseases.

The diseases associated with monsoon are malaria, jaundice, gastro intestinal infections like typhoid and cholera. Apart from these, viral infections like cold and cough also make their presence felt.

Puddles of water formed due to rain become breeding grounds for mosquitoes which spread diseases like malaria and dengue fever. As a precautionary measure against mosquito bite born diseases one can use mosquito net around the bed which is better choice to mosquito repellants like mats and coils. A mosquito repellant cream is the best choice when you are away from home. Fumigating the house with smoke of dried neem leaves in evenings for 1-2 minutes is an excellent ayurvedic method to keep mosquitoes away.

Pollution of drinking water during monsoon is very common. It is very necessary to drink clean and pure water when water borne monsoon diseases like diarrhea and gastro intestinal infections threaten us. Drinking boiled water at home is strongly recommended to tap water. Prefer mineral water of government certified companies when you are away from home.

Walking in dirty water during rainy season leads to numerous fungal infections which affect toes and nails. Diabetic patients have to take a special care about their feet. Always keep your feet dry and clean. Avoid walking in dirty water. Keep your shoes, socks and raincoats dry and clean. Drying clothes with fumes of loban and dry neem leaves is recommended in ayurvedic texts.

Precautions have to be taken to prevent dampness and growth of fungus (mold) on and around the house where asthmatic patients live. Avoid fumigation in case of asthmatic patients.

Ayurvedic Tips to increase body immunity and preventing diseases of monsoon.

8. Avoid eating uncooked foods and salads.

9. Drink plenty of water and keep your body well hydrated.

10. Do not allow kids to play in stagnant polluted water filled puddles.

Ayurvedic Home remedies for Monsoon diseases

1. Apply castor oil or sesame oil for cracked feet and skin.

2. A freshly prepared paste of turmeric, neem and sesame seeds is recommended in ayurveda for fungal infection between toes.

3. Drink a glass of warm water mixed with a tea spoon of honey in empty stomach. This flushes out accumulated toxins.

4. Freshly prepared radish juice is the best remedy for cold.

Mediterranean diet and the south beach diet a detailed comparison

Good health and longevity interests people of all ages from around the world. As a result, the weight loss and fitness industries have been booming for years. There are so many diets that those seeking help with their weight loss or health needs don't know where to turn.

Two diets that have become extremely popular recently are the Mediterranean Diet and the South Beach Diet. Here's a detailed comparison of both diets.

Mediterranean Diet Explained

The Mediterranean Diet is often called "The Healthiest Diet in the World" because of its healthy weight loss benefits. Just as the name implies, the Mediterranean Diet has been enjoyed by people who live in the Mediterranean region, particularly Italy and Greece, for thousands of years and is now being adopted by many Americans and others around the world.

It is a diet low in saturated fat with healthy mono-unsaturated fats being provided through fish, nuts and olive oil. It features foods such as dried fruits, vegetables, whole grains, small portions of meat such as salmon, turkey, lamb, and tuna, and a small amount of wine.

The Mediterranean Diet is known for its many benefits such as help in the prevention of gallstones, breast cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure, Lou Gehrig disease, high cholesterol, and other diseases.

South Beach Diet Explained

The South Beach Diet is a newer "no carb" type diet where carbohydrates are prohibited during the first phase of the diet, and then are slowly introduced back into the diet after two weeks. There are three phases all together, with the third being for maintenance. The focus is on lean meats such as chicken, turkey, shellfish, and fish as well as nuts, eggs, and low-fat cheese. The benefits are weight loss with a long-term balanced diet plan to help with weight maintenance.

How the Diets are Alike

The similarities of these two diets include eating restaurant quality recipes and promoting healthy monounsaturated fats. Both diets are low in unhealthy saturated fats. The unhealthy fats are found in cheese and meat. Both diets promote healthy foods. Both provide an avenue for fast weight loss with a plan for lifetime maintenance. Also, both diets offer online support and memberships for delicious diet recipes. For instance, Ayhan's Mediterranean Menu Plans are available for those who want to change over to a Mediterranean way of eating.

How They Differ

With the Mediterranean Diet, alcohol (especially wine) is allowed in moderation. It is prohibited in the first phase of the South Beach Diet. The Mediterranean Diet is high in fiber while the South Beach Diet is low in fiber during its initial phase.

Portion control is the main focus of the Mediterranean Diet while the South Beach Diet restricts "what" is eaten by prohibiting certain fruits and vegetables. Another major difference is that those who adopt the Mediterranean Diet may order foods, dressings and seasonings online for their cooking needs. The South Beach Diet does not offer products such as these.

The South Beach Diet has only been around a few years while the Mediterranean Diet has been around for thousands of years. Studies have shown that those eating a Mediterranean Diet have less risk of major diseases and can even increase longevity.

In this comparison, we see that both diets offer health and weight loss benefits. However, the Mediterranean Diet appears to be better for long-term good health and has fared well in many studies.

Making love last when infertility comes between your marriage

Jay and Mariana are the perfect couple. They met and dated during their senior year in high school and had been inseparable ever since. After a long wait, they were finally engaged right after finishing college. After less than a year our of college, Jay and Mariana decided to tie the knot.

The first few months as newlyweds was a bliss. They were so in love that there wasn't even room for even a single petty quarrel. But on their second year as husband and wife, things began to change. Suddenly, both began to feel the pressure and frustration of still having an empty nest. Their romance and intimacy was slowly eroded by the sense of incompleteness.

Mariana was so consumed about having her own child that she eventually drifted away from Jay. In her mind, marriage was all about having a family. At times, she would feel very depressed and think that maybe she was at fault. At the back of her mind, she was worried that something was wrong with her and that is reason why she has not been able to conceive.

Jay had his own share of stress and anxiety in their marriage. Even if he tried to hide his frustrations, he could not help but express his envy whenever his best friend Mikey spoke about his one-year old son and how his wife Pamela was expecting their second child.

The couple found family reunions and other occasions with relatives to be particularly difficult. Jay and Mariana were always bombarded with questions about when they would finally have children of their own. The sight of nephews and nieces made them more sensitive to the fact that they were childless. Both of them had to endure endless questions, jokes, stares, and the noise of happy children. They would not have minded the laughter, crying, and screams of the children --- except that these little packages of energy and fun were not their own. Every family reunion, an insensitive aunt would always joke about the “stork” that lost its way and never reached Jay and Mariana's empty home. The couple just kept silent everytime they heard that cruel joke.

For such a long time, Jay and Mariana exchanged accusation and blame for not having a child of their own. The stress and anxiety of not having a child almost took a toll on their marriage. Fights became more frequent and the moments of intimacy became rarer --- which further complicated their problem. How could they have a child if they were always fighting?

With the prodding of a mutual friend, Jay finally agreed to go with Mariana to a doctor. After a series of tests, the doctor told them that Mariana was perfectly capable of getting pregnant. The doctor also said that Jay had a very low sperm count which could probably explain why Mariana still could not get pregnant.

Like Jay and Mariana, many couples experience problems with infertility. In fact, in the Unites States, it is estimated that six million couples face infertility challenges each year, or about 10 percent of all married couples. Infertility is the failure of a couple to become pregnant after one year of regular and unprotected intercourse. Under ideal circumstances, the probability that a woman will get pregnant during a single menstrual cycle is only about 30%. In many cases, infertility is caused by a combination of factors in both partners that conspire to prevent such conception from occurring. Infertility affects one in 25 American men. Men infertility cases are due to low sperm count or poor sperm quality. In most industrialized countries like the U. S, sperms counts have been found to be in a decline especially among busy, career-driven men.

Anabolic steroid is mvp of growth maturity

Anabolic steroid is natural or synthetic endocrine, which regulates the body functions. Anabolic Steroid is also called ‘Anabolic-Androgenic Steroid.’ Anabolic steroid helps to build muscles and body mass.

Anabolic steroid was discovered in 1930. Since then, anabolic steroid drugs have been used for several medical purposes comprising bone growth stimulation, appetency, puberty, and muscle development. The most far-flung use of anabolic steroid is for chronic wasting conditions including AIDS and cancer.

Presently, anabolic steroid drugs are one of the most controversial drugs. These drugs are often used as performance & stamina enhancing drugs. There are a number of side effects and serious consequences linked with the abuse and overuse of anabolic steroid drugs. Some of the anabolic steroid side effects include giddiness, early hair loss, mood swings (anger, depression and aggression), delusion, feelings of fear and suspicion, sleeping problems, vomiting and nausea, trembling, joints pain, yellow fever, high blood pressure, problems in urinary system, heart problems, stroke, liver damage and many others.

The anabolic steroid drugs affect males and females in different ways. The major “anabolic steroid side effects” in males include increased breast or nipple size, enlarged prostate gland, powerlessness and reduced sperm count. The major “anabolic steroid side effects” in females include excessive hair growth on body and face, decreased breast size, deepened voice and menstrual problems.

These anabolic steroid side effects have made the drugs category, which is usable only by prescription, in order to deal the conditions, which occurs when human body produces lesser testosterone quantities such as delayed puberty and impotence. According to a 1988 US federal law, the use and distribution of anabolic steroid drugs is illegal. These drugs were put under the category of controlled substances in 1991.

The anabolic steroid drugs have an anticoagulant effect. Used with extreme care in combination with other drugs, these drugs have the same effect, including warfarin, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and aspirin. Simultaneous use of anabolic steroid drugs and corticosteroids may increase the risk of foot and ankle swelling. The combination is very likely to cause acne. The anabolic steroid drugs may also help lowering blood glucose levels. These drugs should be used with extreme care in patients taking insulin or other antidiabetic drugs.

Avoid common bodybuilding weightlifting injuries-common mistakes in gym

Bodybuilding by weightlifting if done wrongly is a sure recipe for injuries. Sometimes even painful and permanent injuries that will derail your bodybuilding program. This article will address the common injury prone mistakes bodybuilders make in their quest to build a fit and muscular body and how to avoid those weightlifting injuries.

Many people who workout in gyms complain about backaches and they blamed it on their desk bound jobs sitting in front of the computer at long stretches of time. Perhaps they are right. Then why is it that more bodybuilders have backaches when compared to their non gym going colleagues?

Aren’t those people who lift weights are supposed to have stronger back muscles to support their musculature and should be less prone to backaches? I think you are getting the drift. Many bodybuilders suffer from common weightlifting injuries that they don’t even know it.

Many people actually think that if they do not suffer any pain when they are lifting weights, they are not injured. I want to debunk this bodybuilding myth right now. You see, many weight lifting injuries are very often sustained over a period of time.

It is because of the wrong weightlifting form being repeated over and over through many training sessions that cause the wear and tear of joints, tendons, cartilages and muscles. Many injuries do not just occur immediately or overnight like the weights dropping on your toes or painful muscle tear during your lifts.

Therefore executing your weightlifting movements in the correct form and techniques not only help your muscles to grow big and fast, it is also crucial to prevent bodybuilding injuries.

Common causes of injuries can also be attributed to lifting weights that are too heavy or that the bodybuilder who may be sick, and yet headed for the gym when his condition is not optimum for handling the weight he usually lift as he is in a physically weakened state.

So when the weights are too heavy or you are too weak to lift the weights you usually do, you are forced to cheat by swinging the weights up using momentum and lowering the weights by using gravity.

These movements not only waste your time in the gym as they are definitely not helpful in helping you build muscles. They will cause injuries.

An example of a common exercise done in the wrong form and a recipe for injuries is the common bar bell curl.

• Barbell Biceps Curl – This exercise is perhaps the most commonly executed in the wrong form and causing injuries that people don’t even know why they are injured. In every gym, you will see people swinging their barbells with their body rocking thru and fro in the movements.

The rocking movement places tremendous stress on the shoulder joint which is the most unstable joint in the human body and the lower back. Over time, the shoulder joints and lower back will pay a heavy price for the wrong form and technique used during the lift.

Other common bodybuilding exercises which are often wrongly executed are the lat pull down, bench press, leg extension, military press and list goes on.

So the next time when you have backache or joint pain, don’t blame it on other causes if you are a bodybuilder and that you lift weights often. Just reflect on the weightlifting exercises you are doing and examined them as to whether they are the cause of your injuries.

Better yet, hire a personal trainer or a bodybuilding book with picture illustration and description to learn how to lift weights in the correct form and technique to prevent common and serious weight lifting injuries.

Lavender the natural muscle relaxant superstar

If there is a specific cause for muscle pain such as Arthritis or disc problems, there are also a number of specific remedies that can help deal with these ailments. But for pain relief, most people seek prescription pharmaceutical medication, which can have bad side effects and can even cause allergies, aside from the fact that it can be damaging to our bodies. If one is looking for a muscle pain relief but is worried about drug interactions and its adverse effects, then they may consider using natural muscle relaxants.

For general muscle relaxation, a massage using two teaspoons of almond or olive oil mixed with 3 drops each of essential oils of Lavender, a natural muscle relaxant can help bring relief. Lavender is as old as humankind. Already in use by different civilizations for more than 2,500 years, this beautifully-scented herb has been used in the following ways such as perfume, disinfectant, deodorant, aphrodisiac, and insect repellent.

Lavender, the bushy perennial with the refreshing and delightful scent, has a long history of medicinal uses. It is calming and has an uplifting influence. Warm lavender tea applied as a compress can relieve a headache. In the bath water, lavender oil relaxes one, and gets rid of tension, thereby making one feel better.

Lavender was also used in ancient times to tame lions and tigers. Perhaps the ancient people intuitively knew what researchers are finding out about lavender. Researchers have proven that it calms anxiety and provides natural stress relief. Lavender has also a long list of medicinal properties, making it a natural health superstar. These days, lavender is enjoying renewed popularity as an alternative natural muscle relaxant.

Lavender was also used in earlier days as a condiment and for flavoring dishes to comfort the stomach. It has aromatic, carminative, and nervine properties. Though largely used in perfumery, it is now not much employed internally, except as a flavoring agent, occurring occasionally in pharmacy to cover disagreeable odors in ointments and other compounds.

Red Lavender lozenges are employed both as a mild stimulant. More than just lozenges, the red lavender product is also a favorite after-dinner treat because of its pleasant taste. The essential oil, or the spirit of Lavender made from it, proves admirably restorative and tonic against faintness, palpitations of a nervous sort, weak giddiness, spasms, and colic. It is agreeable to the taste and smell, provokes appetite, raises the spirits and dispels flatulence. The dose is from 1 to 4 drops on sugar or in a spoonful or two of milk.

A few drops of the essence of Lavender in a hot foot bath is often prescribed as a means of effectively relieving fatigue. If applied outwardly, it relieves toothache, neuralgia, sprains, and rheumatism. In hysteria, palsy and similar disorders of debility and lack of nerve power, Lavender will act as a powerful stimulant.

Before you reach for over the counter drugs for your next muscle relaxant, why not do what ancient Egyptians did and look to nature first. After all, if lavender could tame tigers, imagine what it could do for Monday mornings at the office? Definitely, lavender, is the ultimate natural muscle relaxant.

Depression and dry mouth connection

There can be a lot of health complications that may arise as people get older. This fact is considered as a part of a person's natural aging process because a person's body tends to get weak as one grows older. Body organs and a person's body systems (digestive, nervous, circulatory, etc.) are more prone to illnesses, simply because of the length of time a person lives. At this stage, people should be extra careful on their diet, more aware on their everyday medications, and on their way of living.

Specifically, a common problem among older adults would be experiencing lack of saliva, or dry mouth. Xerostomia, in medical terms, refers to a decrease in the amount of saliva in a person's mouth. Often ignored, this condition affects the mouth itself by not moistening the mouth as we all normally do. This health condition prevents saliva from continually secreting into our mouth, therefore making it hard to swallow and digest, speak, chew, kiss, make love, even sing. Saliva protects and nourishes a person's teeth, lips, mouth, and esophagus. Lacking saliva would do damage to these parts, and without adequate saliva to lubricate one's mouth, wash away food, and neutralize acids produced by plaque, extensive decay can arise. Dry mouth is encountered mostly by older people and mostly women.

Several factors are involved when a person has dry mouth. Certain prescription medications produces dry mouth as a side effect, such as for high blood pressure, anxiety, depression, weight loss, allergies, pain, muscle relaxants, urinary incontinence drugs, medications for Parkinson's disease, and antihistamines. Actually, over a thousand medications can cause dry mouth, and the more drugs a person takes, the more chances of having this kind of condition. Decreased saliva or dry mouth is also associated with a number of psycho logic and medical conditions. A noticeable disease that causes oral dryness would be having Sjogren's Syndrome, a condition that is characterized by generalized dryness of the salivary and other similar glands. Other diseases that may result in dryness would be AIDS, dehydration, diabetes, and bone marrow transplants. Another cause for dry mouth would be through therapeutic irradiation. This treatment for certain cancers (head and neck) can include radiation that can damage the salivary glands, and eventually decreasing the production of saliva. Depression also contributes to having a dry mouth. People who are clinically depressed or those who become overly anxious have lower percentage of salivary flow. Other more natural causes would be aging (as mentioned earlier) and the decrease in a person's ability to chew.

If dryness is from the intake of certain medications, it would be good to seek advice from the doctor who can possibly change your medication and reduce the dryness. A more simpler solution would be keeping the mouth moist. A person can do this by sipping water or any other sugar-free juices frequently. A person can also stimulate the flow of one's saliva by eating foods which require mastication, chewing sugarless gum, by using diabetic-type candies, or by sucking on a cherry, olive pit, or the rind of a lemon or lime. Dry mouth should be given attention, and a consultation with a physician is advised when one feels dryness in the mouth.

Cause of childhood obesity explained

Many people believe that the cause of childhood obesity is due to over eating and laziness and to an extent they are right but the main cause of childhood obesity are two reasons. The child’s DNA and their parents. If people in the child's family have been struggling with weight gain for most of their life then the genes in that child will make them more susceptible to follow the same pattern, but that can be prevented by healthy eating and exercise which is where the parents come in. Children imitate their parents behaviour so if the parents were to eat healthily and live active lifestyles the child is sure to follow but in this day and age that is not the case and because more adults are going down the road of obesity more children are following them and ultimately suffering at the same hand of fate as their parents although it could easily be prevented!

Parents have the most influence on their child's life, they have the power to show the child that over eating and that lack of exercise is not acceptable in a young person’s life and this is the cause of obesity problems later on in life. Obesity has some dreadful side affects and day to day life can be very unpleasant and simple tasks such as climbing stairs, taking a shower and other general things take more time and more effort because of the extra weight. This is even worse for a child, they need to be active and have fun!

The causes of childhood obesity are not so severe that obesity can be avoided! If you we teach oour children how to live an active and healthy lifestyle there is no reason why they should become obese even if they’re family are full of obese people! Obesity is a cause and effect disease it is caused by several things over eating being the man one and the effects are horrible which complicated medical problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and coronary heart disease! Childhood obesity can be avoided so lets try and do that, lets avoid it and help our children lead happy healthy lives with no health problems or emotional setbacks!

It’s well-known fact that innovations not only draw attention and cause a buyer fever, but also produce some fear and reflexions about how much this or that innovation is expedient in general.

But internet drugstores eventually get the increasing popularity because of convenience and advantages by which they are characterized.

In the USA and Europe the percentage of people, who use these internet drugstores services, grows strictly. The most popular are networks of real drugstores, which have got web-sites and show their products there. But drugstores which have no traditional primary source are also demanded. Nevertheless, it does not influence on quality characteristics of sold medical means, because the legal internet drugstore for getting the license is obliged to have suitable warehouse for drugs, and also qualified staff, which will be engaged in consultation of buyers.

Legislative regulation of internet drugstores is strict enough to provide high level of services. Public services are constantly engaged in tracing and liquidation of illegal internet drugstores selling fake medicaments or narcotics without the prescription. Legal internet drugstores are capable to substitute usual street drugstores. The drugstores’ web-sites give detailed information about company, and also about medicines which they sell. The customer can get proper consultation on medicines, and also find out the symptoms of possible disease on these web-sites. One of the main advantages of internet drugstores is a full confidentiality for customers. The buyer makes an order for medical products individually, not disclosing the information about his/her health condition among other buyers that always happens in street drugstore queues.

The online pharmacy becomes the best solution for the buyer who gets medical treatment in-home and cannot go to a drugstore to buy medical products independently. It is enough to make an order, and it will be delivered to the house in as much as possible short terms. Qualitative internet drugstores provide adequate packing, transportation and transferring of medical products for the purpose of full preservation of their quality and efficiency, transferring of medicines to the person who has made an order, possibility to control order delivery.

There will be no problems with an order of drugs which require prescription from a doctor. The buyer can receive the order after providing the prescription. Internet drugstores are inferior to real drugstores on goods assortment. On the contrary it is possible to make an order in these internet drugstores on rare drugs which not always available in usual drugstores. Users order such goods in internet drugstores more often.

As for the price policy of internet drugstore it does not differ a lot from usual drugstore. With only one difference: some kinds of drugs in internet drugstores are cheaper. Among extra benefits - individually developed discount system for regular customers.

What is anxiety and how to treat it

There are several subgroups of Anxiety Disorders, with different causes and treatement.

Anxiety disorders are a serious social and financial concern to American business, since they cost the country more than $42 billion a year in healthcare costs and lost productivity, according to "The Economic Burden of Anxiety Disorders," a study published in the Journal of Clinical Psychiatry.

More than $22.84 billion is spent on healthcare services, as those with anxiety disorders seek relief for emotional distress and physical symptoms.

Sufferers are 300 to 500 percent more likely to go to the doctor and 600 percent more likely to be hospitalized for psychiatric disorders than non-sufferers.

Anxiety disorders are the most common psychiatric illness and affect both children and adults. They develop from an interaction of numerous risk factors, including personality, genetics, brain chemistry, and life stress.

Approximately 19 million adult Americans suffer from anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders are highly treatable, yet only about one-third of those suffering from them receive treatment.

The main feature of Generalized Anxiety Disorder is excessive, unrealistic and uncontrollable worry about everyday events. This constant worry affects daily functioning and brings physical symptoms.

GAD can occur with other anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, or substance abuse. It can be misdiagnosed because it lacks some of the dramatic symptoms, such as unprovoked attacks of panic, that are seen with other anxiety disorders.

For a diagnosis to be made, uncontrollable worrying occur more days than not for at least 6 months.

The focus of GAD is fluid, shifting unpredictably from job issues, finances, health of both self and family, and smaller issues such as chores, car repairs and being late for appointments.

The intensity, duration and frequency of the worry are disproportionate to the issue and interferes with the sufferer's daily life.

Physical symptoms can include muscle tension, sweating, gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and/or nausea, cold and clammy palms, the feeling of having a "lump in the throat" and difficulty swallowing. Sufferers are irritable and complain about feeling on edge, tire easily tired and have trouble sleeping.

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder is characterized by persistent, recurring thoughts (obsessions) that reflect exaggerated anxiety or fears; typical obsessions include worry about being contaminated or fears of behaving improperly or acting violently.

The obsessions may cause the individual to perform a rituals or routines to relieve the anxiety, such as excessive handwashing, checking appliances, repeating phrases or hoarding.

People with Panic Disorder suffer severe acute attacks of panic for no apparant reason, which may mimic the symptoms of a heart attack or cause them to feel they are losing their minds. Symptoms include heart palpitations, chest pain or discomfort, sweating, trembling, tingling sensations, feeling of choking, fear of dying, fear of losing control, and feelings of unreality.

Panic disorder is often accompanied by agoraphobia, in which people are afraid of having a panic attack in a public place, so they become afraid to leave the safety of their controlled home environment. Posttraumatic Stress Disorder can follow a traumatic event such as a sexual or physical assault,

witnessing a death, the unexpected death of a loved one, or natural disaster.

There are three main symptoms associated with PTSD: "reliving" of the traumatic event (such as flashbacks and nightmares); avoidance behaviors (such as avoiding places and other reminders related to the trauma) and emotional numbing (detachment from others); and physiological arousal such difficulty sleeping, irritability or poor concentration.

Social Anxiety Disorder is characterized by severe anxiety about being judged by others or behaving in a way that might bring ridicule or embarrassment.

This intense anxiety may lead to extreme shyness and avoidance of social situations. Physical symptoms associated with this disorder include faintness, heart palpitations, blushing and profuse sweating.

Anxiety disorders also include Specific Phobias, an intense and unreasonable fear of specific objects or situations, such as spiders, dogs, or heights. The disproportionate level of fear is recognized by the sufferer as being irrational.

It can lead to the avoidance of common, everyday situations. Patients often have more than one anxiety disorder, and sometimes other illness as well such as depression or substance abuse.

Treatment of anxiety disorders includes support groups, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure therapy, anxiety management and relaxation techniques, and psychotherapy. Drugs therapy used to treat anxiety disorders includes benzodiazepines, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) and beta-blockers.

Often a combination of the two therapies is more useful than one exclusively. Up to 90 percent of patients will show improvement of their symptom from medical treatment.

You want to buy steroid for positive or for negative use

You can buy steroids, but you must know the negative as well as positive aspects of steroids first. You must read this article completely, before you buy steroids.

Steroids are the derivatives of testosterone, a potent androgenic hormone secreted chiefly by the testes, responsible for the development of male secondary sex characteristics. Steroids are often administered to aging men and women as part of a regimen to help them restore their vitality.

Dr. Alan Mintz, the founder of the Las Vegas-based Cenegenics Medical Institute, articulates that steroids are wonderful drugs that give you the power to live healthy life in retiring years of your life. These drugs really have wonderful benefits, if you buy steroids to use them rightly at right time.

According to Dr. Mintz, a young healthy body has no need to buy steroids. Hormonal overload in a healthy body can cause serious health problems and ethical issues. It is utterly unethical to buy steroids to use them for enhancing your power and performance level. Certainly, steroids are not meant for 20-25 years old young people rather these drugs are legally meant for the people who are incapable to produce growth hormones naturally in their bodies. These people surely have every reason to buy steroids that can help them live healthy life in their later years.

Dr. Mintz affirms that steroids taken in low doses in old age do not cause any health problems. Instead, these help you live longer and healthy life. Steroids can be your power boosters in your later years.

However, steroids have a number of side effects and serious consequences, if they are used wrongly for wrong purposes, such as performance & stamina enhancing drugs; Some of the steroid side effects include giddiness, early hair loss, mood swings (anger, depression and aggression), delusion, feelings of fear and suspicion, sleeping problems, vomiting and nausea, trembling, joints pain, yellow fever, high blood pressure, problems in urinary system, heart problems, stroke, liver damage and many others.

“The concern I have is that hysteria over steroids use will cause people to lose sight of the potential good side of these hormones. It's really going to scare people away from their legitimate medical use,” says Dr. John Baxter, the former president of the Endocrine Society & the professor of medicine at the University of California at San Francisco.

So, you have gone viewed both the facets of steroids. Now, you can decide yourself that – you want to buy steroid for positive or for negative use?

Shop smart secrets for a healthy lifestyle

A big part of enjoying healthier eating is buying healthier foods, and that means making smart choices where it matters most – at the supermarket. Choosing the freshest, healthiest foods is an important first step toward making healthy and delicious meals your whole family will love.

In general, most supermarkets are laid out with the healthiest, most nutritious foods around the perimeter of the store. That is where most stores locate their produce section, their dairy section, their meat counter, and the like. Of course, the middle aisles of the grocery store also contain nutritious foods, such as canned and frozen vegetables, whole grain cereals and more.

And of course each shelf of the grocery store also contains both good and bad choices for healthy eating. For instance, the cereal aisle is home to both the healthy, home grain cereal, and those cereals that contain more sugar than corn. In many cases, the difference will be obvious from the packaging, while at other times you will need to read the nutritional information carefully to ensure the food is healthy for your family.

As a matter of fact, learning to read nutritional labels is one of the most important skills any health oriented shopper must learn. This government mandated labels contain a wealth of information if you know what to look for. Not only do nutritional labels contain vital information on calorie counts, fat grams and sodium content, but they contain detailed information on the percentage of each vitamin an mineral a serving contains.

When looking at nutritional labels, however, pay careful attention to the portion size listed. This is particularly important when looking at calories, fat grams and the amount of sodium. For instance, a serving of juice is generally 8 ounces, while the average juice glass at your home may be 12 or even 16 ounces. It is important to carefully look at serving size, and to do the mental calculation necessary to reflect how much of each product will actually be consumed at one sitting.

When shopping for healthy foods, it is usually better to opt for les processed foods. For instance, 100% fruit juice would be better than a fruit juice blend that may contain as little as 5% or 10% fruit juice. And plain frozen vegetables would be healthier than vegetables in a butter sauce. When shopping for meat, try to buy fresh meat whenever possible. Frozen meat products, or those already seasoned, heat and eat products, often contain unhealthy ingredients as well as preservatives.

When it comes to dairy products, it is best to buy low fat and non fat varieties when at all possible. The one exception to this rule is feeding babies and young children. Their growing bodies need the fat and calories contained in whole milk products, but adults and older children are better served by low fat alternatives.

When choosing canned soups, there are a number of fat free and low sodium varieties. Try to choose these soups for a healthier lifestyle. Other high protein, low calorie soup choices include black bean soup, lentil soup and split pea soup. These healthy soups are good sources of protein, fiber and folate.

Ethnic foods, such as Mexican and Chinese, can be excellent sources of healthy meals, and the traditional ways of preparing such foods are generally very healthy. It is important to stay as authentic as possible when choosing and preparing Mexican, Asian, Middle Eastern and Italian food. This will help guarantee both great taste and healthy eating. For instance, traditional salsa is an excellent, low calorie, and nutritious dip, and the traditional Mexican black bean dip is usually fat free.

Seasonings can be an excellent way to spice up healthy cooking without adding additional fat and calories. Herbs and spices are a great way to add zest to any meal, and starting an herb garden of your own is a great way to save both time and money while providing fresh tasting, healthy meals for your family. When buying spices in the grocery store, be especially careful about sodium content. Read the label carefully, since the first ingredient on many bottled spices is actually salt (another great reason to start that herb garden).

Instill good eating habits in children for good health

As we are besieged daily by more news of overweight and obese children in the United States, we are reminded that our children aren’t eating healthfully. And it’s our fault. Our children follow our lead, trust our judgment and take our advice.

It’s our responsibility to make sure children are eating a healthful, varied diet. But that’s truly a tall order since children are often not open to new foods and will willingly and loudly reject a variety of healthy foods.

So what do you do? There are several steps to getting your children to eat better, be healthier and, hopefully, keep their weight in check.

First, set a good example.

If your children see you skipping breakfast, woofing down a burger for lunch and eating a beige, carb-laden dinner, they are learning very little about good nutrition from you.

Remember that your children are watching what you do and, as with so much else, they are taking your lead. If your diet needs re-working, use your children as inspiration for that change.

Second, go slowly.

If your children are accustomed to fruity pops for breakfast and chicken nuggets and fries for dinner, definitely go slowly in making changes to their diet. If you suddenly give them a smoothie with a protein chaser for breakfast and a spinach salad for dinner, you will meet with resistance, substantial resistance.

Start with slowly adding more fruits and vegetables to their diet. You can offer a fruit smoothie with breakfast (maybe make it with frozen yogurt to begin with to literally “sweeten the pot”, then taper that off as your children get used to it). Switch from white bread to whole wheat. Make this a non-negotiable item. If they are used to cold cereal in the morning, allow that, but add the smoothie. Then adjust the kind of cereal they eat, and so on.

For lunch and dinner, it’s much the same. Make changes slowly, and get your children accustomed to one thing before making another (hopefully subtle) change. Remember, some experts say it takes 10-12 exposures to a new food before children will accept it. They might never accept brussel sprouts, but if you have offered them a dozen times in various forms, you might be surprised one day when they say, “yum”.

Third, make it fun.

Since many adults consider healthy eating to be torture, imagine how hard a change this can be for a child, particularly if they’ve literally been raised on carbs, sugar, and fat. If you’ve set a good example, and been patient by moving slowly in changing your child’s diet, you might be surprised to see some resistance fading away. Now you can add in some fun.

* Head to a salad bar restaurant. Although there are abundant bad choices at these restaurants, there are enough good ones to bring even the most resistant child to the baked potato bar, or the spaghetti bar, or even – gasp! – the green salad bar. Dessert is often frozen yogurt.

* Or make your own Lunchables for your child, but fill the individual spots with grapes, cheese cubes, carrot sticks and turkey breast.

* Take your kids to the park for a picnic dinner, but instead of hauling along some fried chicken, make oven-baked at home, and add a homemade potato salad and fruit salad. *Get your kids into the kitchen with you. Although they might still sniff at the thought of eating asparagus, having a hand in preparing it might encourage them to at least try it – that’s the child ego coming out and you can exploit it for all its worth in this situation.

Secrets to natural breast enlargement

Although there are natural methods available, most owmen who want to increase the size of their bust use cosmetic breast surgery. There are many reasons why a person wants a cosmetic surgery breast enlargement carried out on them, it could be the aging process or because of an accident or medical condition but the most popular objective is the desire to enhance their looks and confidence. To increase the likelihood of a satisfying outcome, first examine your reasons for wanting cosmetic breast surgery.

Self esteem is important to most people and if they look and feel young they often live more active lives and this has been offered as the possible reason why people who have cosmetic breast surgery live longer. Another factor when considering cosmetic surgery breast augmentation is the ability and reputation of the surgeon who is going to carry out the procedure. After selecting a qualified plastic surgeon, you may proceed to your initial consultation to see if cosmetic breast surgery is ideal for you.

Many people have cosmetic surgery carried out on them every year and it would seem that it is considered quite a normal occurrence, if you look at the statistics, for people to change things about them they do not like. Plastic surgery includes two broad fields, namely cosmetic surgery (or aesthetic) and reconstructive surgery which focuses on concealing the destructive effects of trauma, disease or accident. Today, some men have cosmetic breast surgery procedures in addition to women in an attempt to improve their looks and confidence that may have been lost by a sagging chest and age.

Often it is the individual’s body shape that they’re unhappy with and may even cause distress so cosmetic surgery can be used to help with the poor image the person has of themselves and provide a more positive one. Body contouring is a group of cosmetic surgery procedures that basically enable a person to reshape their entire figure.

With techniques that just keep on improving it is possible to have almost any surgical procedure without scars. It is always wise to remember that the finished product will depend a great deal on the appearance of the patient before the operation and cosmetic surgery breast enlargement may take some getting used to if a great deal of work was done. To this end it is worth remembering one very important fact and that is there is always a risk with any type of surgery and cosmetic breast surgery is no different, factors such as persons age and medical history can have a bearing and that results might not be exactly as you expected.

Since a major cosmetic surgery breast augmentation may involve a significant recovery period, it would not be wise to expect instant results after surgery. A healthy recovery can often all depend on the care you receive after an operation, so it is worth knowing in advance what you can expect. Fortunately, after cosmetic breast surgery infections are less than 1% and the use of antibiotics help to lower this risk.

At one time, not that long ago, any type of cosmetic surgery was only available to the rich and famous; thankfully it is now much more widely available. Cosmetic surgery patients of today come from all walks of life and changing your appearance is open to all with advanced techniques and falling costs, almost anyone can change the way they look.

People in the 21st century live in a super-charged society where fast-paced activity always seem to take priority over out basic need to get sufficient sleep. Today's active lifestyle is so enticing, that many individuals compromise the need to rest and get enough sleep. Because of this attitude, many persons are experiencing malfunctions in the brain, slowed reaction time, and the ability to focus attention. Oftentimes, these factors leads to lack of quality judgment in many minor and important situations. Lack of sleep may take its toll on one's lifestyle and performance. On the contrary, many adults who get adequate sleep are happier and are more productive.

Indeed, sleep has many health benefits that have often been taken for granted by many. But because of the stress of today's lifestyle a lot of people have been experiencing difficulties in getting quality sleep. Recent medical studies show that food regimens and activity may play a critical role in determining one's sleeping patterns. Some foods may improve sleep while others can make sleep difficult. Foods that promote quality sleep may include green leafy vegetables, whole wheat grains, cereals, and mushrooms. Fruits like bananas and berries; spices like basil and sage may also aid in sleep problems. Common method of sleep like a glass of milk is essential in improving one's sleeping patterns. Spicy foods should also be avoided because they may cause or ingestion or gastrointestinal reflux. Sweet or fatty food may also lead to ingestion and cause bloating. Eating too much should also be avoided because too much meals may cause indigestion, heart burn or discomfort.

Some advice for achieving good sleep may include the following:

* Establish a schedule and stick to it; sleep when you are sleepy but try to get up and go to bed each day at about the same time.

* Use a fan or other means of creating a steady, soothing sound to drown out other noises.

* Reduce alcohol and caffeine intake; avoid caffeine after noon and don’t use alcohol as a sedative before bed.

Stress and anxiety 101 what is anxiety

It is normal for every person to experience anxiety attacks, especially during stressful situations and traumatic events in life. As health experts say, anxiety is a typical response of person's body that signals possible dangers ahead. However, when anxiety becomes extreme to the point that it prevents a person from living the normal life that he intends to have, that person may possibly be suffering from anxiety disorder.

Defining what is anxiety disorder

Anxiety disorder is generally a term that covers different types of extreme pathological phobia, fear, and anxiety. A person suffering from an anxiety disorder may experience abnormal feelings of anxiety even without knowing the cause or he may also have intense and sudden panic attacks. The attacks may be in the form of unwanted obsessions or compulsions and uncommon social inhibitions.

Even though anxiety disorders have different forms, they are all the same in one thing – extreme and persistent worrying or fear. This condition becomes alarming as the intensity and frequency of the said responses can disrupt or undermine an individual’s everyday routine and productivity.

Below are the three characteristics of anxiety disorders:

1. Consistent, all-consuming, and continuous.

2. Interferes social interactions and activities.

3. Causes emotional withdrawal and isolation.

Enumerating the factors leading to anxiety disorders

There are a number of factors that can lead to the development of anxiety disorders. These factors are categorized according to personality, environmental, hereditary, and brain chemistry.

1. Personality

According to medical studies, differences in personality can significantly affect the development of anxiety disorder in an individual. It is common in individuals with extreme anxiety condition to view the people and environment around them as threatening. People suffering from anxiety disorders also have inferiority complex, thinking and believing that they are powerless towards other people or situations.

2. Environmental

The environment is also a very strong contributing factor in the development of anxiety disorders in individuals. Traumatic situations such as separation of parents; death; weak support system; as well as conflicts with family members and friends can definitely lead to abnormal anxiety condition.

3. Hereditary

Studies proved that anxiety disorders are also hereditary. This means that these psychological conditions run in the family. Those who are found to be suffering from anxiety disorders have family members who are also experiencing extreme anxiety conditions or mood disorders. Recent studies also claimed that there are certain generic factors (such as vulnerability to stress) that contribute to a person’s susceptibility to anxiety disorders.

4. Brain chemistry

The occurrence of imbalances on a human brain’s neurotransmitters can also lead to the further development of anxiety disorders. As such, the medications commonly given by doctor or health practitioners are meant to readjust the chemical imbalance in the brain.

Apart from the four main factors enumerated above, chief life stressors such as marital problems and financial difficulties can also trigger the development of an anxiety disorder. However, it is important to remember that anxiety disorders cannot be triggered by only one cause or factor. The life stressors and the four main contributors to anxiety disorders are oftentimes interrelated.
